How to Grant RSI Access to Your Google My Business Account
Introduction
This guide will walk you through the process of granting RSI access to your Google My Business account (now called Google Business Profile). By following these steps, you’ll provide RSI with the necessary permissions to help manage and optimize your business listing.Prerequisites
- A Google account with owner or manager access to your business listing
- Your business email address and password
- Internet access and a web browser (desktop recommended for easier navigation)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Sign in to Google Business Profile
- Go to business.google.com
- Sign in with the Google account that has access to your business listing
- If you manage multiple locations, open the specific location you want to manage
Step 2: Add RSI as a User
- Follow the detailed instructions provided by Google at: Google Support Guide
- Enter the RSI email address: uptimersi@gmail.com
- Click Choose a role and select Manager
- Click Invite
- If you have multiple locations, repeat steps 1-4 for each location
Step 3: Export Your Business Listings
- Return to the Businesses Main page where you can see all your business listings
- Use the top checkbox to select all your listings
- Click Actions and then select Download: Businesses
- A CSV file containing your business listings information will be downloaded
Step 4: Share the CSV Data with RSI
- Open the downloaded CSV file
- Copy the contents of the CSV export
- Paste the contents into the Google My Business Listings Tab of the document provided by RSI
- Save the document with your changes
Step 5: Verify the Process
- Check that the invitation to uptimersi@gmail.com appears in your users list with “Invitation pending” status
- Contact your RSI representative to confirm they’ve received the invitation
- Allow 24–48 hours for RSI to accept the invitation and verify access
Troubleshooting
If RSI Hasn’t Received the Invitation
- Check the email address for any typos
- Verify the invitation in your users list
- You can resend the invitation by clicking on the pending user and selecting Resend invitation
If You Cannot Add Users
- Check your access level – only Owners can add new users
- If you’re not an Owner, contact the current Owner to add RSI
If You’re Using the Mobile App
- The mobile interface may be different
- Tap the Profile icon, then Business Profile settings, then Users to add RSI
Additional Notes
- RSI will only use their access to optimize your business listing and perform authorized management tasks
- You can revoke access at any time by returning to the Users section and removing RSI
- If you change your Google account password, RSI’s access will not be affected
